Today we’re here to talk about the largest organ of the human body – skin. It protects, it regulates and it creates. It protects your body from exposure to things like bacteria, it regulates your body temperature and it creates the sensations allowing you to feel any touch. If you’ve ever taken a selfie (or a hundred), what’s the first thing you look at when you decide whether or not the snap is gram-worthy? I would venture a guess and say that it would be how your complexion looks.
What are the criteria for a gram-worthy selfie you ask? Easy.
Clear skin. Blemish free.
I’ll be the first to admit that I use to be lazy when it came to giving my skin the proper care it needed. I’m constantly in the sun, I have terrible sleeping habits and my water intake is sporadic at the best of times. After Jacob arrived I realized how much my skin had deteriorated over those years where I thought I could skip the second cleanse, the toner, the serum and go straight to moisturizing. Boy I wish I knew better back then.
When it comes to your skin, it’s never too early and you shouldn’t wait until it’s too late. Our life choices always have a knock on effect on our skin. How much water we drink, how much junk we eat, how often we exercise and how frequently we indulge in a little night out on the town, whether we’re pregnant or hormonal are just a few factors that contribute to the condition of our skin.

So how do we determine the condition of our skin and what it truly needs?
That’s also another easy one. Ask the experts. I’ve never been one to stick to just one skincare regimen by one brand – because who wants to be limited like that? I like to mix and match where I can to get the best from every brand and make it work for my skin.
