February 14, the crucial day that Hallmark, florists and jewelers around the world depend on. The day where a 400% increase in the price of red roses is considered ‘reasonable’ and the odds of getting a reservation at your favorite restaurant by the harbor is near impossible; it’s the day that everybody loves to hate but will always succumb to the commercial hype.
My experiences with Valentines Day have been disappointing to say the least and the ones that were memorable, I can count on three fingers. So what will we be doing on Valentines Day? Keeping it low key and heading up the coast for a picnic by the water with a bottle of bubbly. We’ve decided to avoid fancy restaurants like the plague and most likely will be staying at home with a movie and snacks that do horrible things to our waistline.
I picked up this beautiful piece for a steal from a market over the weekend. It was called the Valentine print – fitting right? I suffered serious buyers remorse four years ago and coincidentally was thinking about the print a few months ago. As I was aimlessly browsing through the stalls, I was instantly drawn to the dress.
